Impareidolia

Impareidolia (2024)

Developed with the help of color vision scientists, the Zoomorph app simulates a variety of animals' sensation of color, helping us speculate about their perception of the world around them. The animals represented in the app have fewer color receptors than humans, a limitation that allow them to see shapes hidden in a dazzle of hues. Hoping to invoke a humbling realization, the Impareidolia animations hints at the existence of patterns and connections perceivable only by species whose senses we consider inferior to ours.
